All communications with the appliances are carried out through our secure HomeWhiz servers, which use Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. TLS is an industry standard for home appliances and also used on websites that allow financial transactions. The connection protocol inside the appliances and our mobile applications have been tested and certified by the VDE Institute and continuous testing is carried out as the application is updated. The appliances also are tested and certified according to legal requirements.

When the owner allows another account to use the appliance jointly, the new user can request ownership from the "User Linking Settings" under the "Settings" tab for each appliance. If the owner accepts the request, ownership is transferred to the new user. From "User Linking Settings" the owner can also transfer ownership without an ownership request from another user.

To use your smart appliances via the mobile application, HomeWhiz needs to be activated on your appliance. (Please see the video section for detailed information on how to do this). Once HomeWhiz is enabled, you can use the wizard or the manual functions on the HomeWhiz application to control your appliances. If HomeWhiz is disabled, you'll be able to monitor your devices via the mobile app but won't be able to control them.
As a security measure, the users who are physically in front of the home appliances are given priority over remote users. To use the HomeWhiz application, you need to activate HomeWhiz on your appliance. If HomeWhiz is deactivated, the appliance can only be controlled via its own panel while you can only monitor them via the mobile app.

The recipes come with predetermined time and temperature settings, which have been rigorously tested by professional chefs. It's not possible to change these settings on the application. However, if you want to experiment you can manually modify these settings on the oven once you start cooking. Please note that the results of your experimental cooking might differ from the expected results of the original recipe.
To save energy, input the hours during which energy use is cheaper in your district on the energy settings page relating to your appliance on the HomeWhiz application. After doing this, you can select the "Smart energy" feature while running the appliance on the HomeWhiz application. Please see the videos page for detailed information.
If you'll be using the same wireless network in your new home, you don't have to do anything. Your appliances will work just the same as before. If you set up a new wireless network in your new home, you'll need to set up your appliances once again to introduce them to your new network.
Due to the distance between your appliance and your wireless router or due to the obstacles in between (such as walls) the wireless connection might be too weak for your appliance to connect. Please check to see if the signal strength of your WiFi router is weak in the place you have installed your appliance. If the signal strength is low, you could try moving the appliance (if possible) or install a WiFi extender. If the connectivity is poor in spite of high signal strength, please contact the customer service desk for your appliance.
