How can I connect HomeWhiz with Alexa?

I get "Your House cannot be created." message.

  • Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the HomeWhiz App.
  • Disable the auto-date and auto-time feature on your phone, and then enable it again.

How to share my device's control with my family?

You can invite another person to your home from HomeWhiz. To do this, please follow the instructions below:

  • Select "Home Settings" from the top-left side menu.
  • Select "Users".
  • Click on "Invite".
  • Enter the email address of the person you would like to invite and click "Send Invitation".
  • Once the invitee accepts the invitation request from their HomeWhiz app, both of you can control the devices.

NOTE: If the product has Wi-Fi capabilities, it can be controlled as soon as access to the house is granted without any further action. However, if the product relies on Bluetooth, it must be re-onboarded once through the mobile application of the account with access permission. (If you are in the room where the product is located, you may receive a warning indicating that it is "not paired").

NOTE: One account can have access to four homes and 32 devices simultaneously.

How to enable remote control on your washing machine/washer dryer?

  •  Please close the door of your washing machine.
  •  Once your device is powered on, press the "Remote Control" button once.
NOTE: When the door is opened, the remote control feature is disabled for security reasons. To re-enable remote control, repeat the steps above.

How to add dryer to HomeWhiz?

If you are having problems with onboarding your device, kindly follow the instructions below:

  • Press and hold the HomeWhiz button and the snooze button simultaneously in the selection mode (on/off state). The display will start counting down from 5.
  • Once the countdown finishes, the device will indicate that the deletion process is complete through rapid movement of characters on the display.
  • After completing the process, the remote access active key should be deactivated.
  • Now, press the remote control button while the device is in the off state to switch to the pairing step.
  • Enter the specified SKU code on the application.
  • The Wemond broadcast will detect the card and prompt you to enter the password "homewhiz".
  • Define the network password to which the device will connect. Connect the device and the application to the same Wi-Fi network to complete the pairing process.
  • After activating remote control, your device is now ready to be used.

If you are having problems with onboarding your device, kindly follow the instructions below:

  • Press and hold the "Time Delay" and "Bluetooth" buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. You will see a countdown from 5 to 0. (This step is optional and can be used to reset your washing machine if needed.)
  • If you are using an Android device, ensure that you have granted "Scan Nearby" permission for the HomeWhiz app.
  • For IOS users who have enabled the "iCloud Private Relay" feature, please disable it before proceeding.
  • Power off your device by unplugging it, and then plug it back in to restart.
  • Ensure you have given consent to HomeWhiz for using your device's location.
  • Make sure the machine's button is in the "OFF" position. Press and hold the Temperature (C) and Bluetooth buttons together for 3 seconds. The Bluetooth icon should start flashing.
  • You can now begin the device onboarding process.
  • Once your device is connected, you need to activate the remote control function to operate it remotely. Turn the knob to the "Download program" position and press the remote control button once.

HomeWhiz says "Your House cannot be created", what will you do?

  • Please make sure that you use the last version of HomeWhiz App.
  • Please disable the auto-date and auto-time feature of your phone and enable it, again.

What is HomeWhiz?

HomeWhiz allows you to control your home appliances via mobile devices. With the HomeWhiz mobile application for iOS and Android, you can monitor and control HomeWhiz enabled appliances.

Which products can I control with HomeWhiz?

HomeWhiz is compatible with several home appliances by Grundig, Beko and Arçelik . We will add other brands to the HomeWhiz family soon. For details, please see the products page.

Can I control my other connected devices with HomeWhiz?

We will continue adding compatible products from several brands to the HomeWhiz portfolio. Stay tuned.

Does it work with iOS/Android?

Yes, the HomeWhiz application is available on App Store and Google Play.

Does it work with tablets?

Yes, you can use the HomeWhiz application on your iPad or Android tablet.

Can I control my smart appliances from outside my home?

You can control your Wi-Fi enabled home appliances from outside of your home. However, Bluetooth enabled devices can only be controlled from a certain distance from your appliance.

Is it secure?

Yes, while HomeWhiz-enabled smart appliances are online, they are not directly accessible from the web. All communications with the appliances are carried out through our secure HomeWhiz servers, which use Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. TLS is an industry standard for home appliances and also used on websites that allow financial transactions. The connection protocol inside the appliances and our mobile applications have been tested and certified by the VDE Institute and continuous testing is carried out as the application is updated. The appliances also are tested and certified according to legal requirements.

Is it safe for my children?

HomeWhiz smart home systems come with an extra layer of security. At the touch of a button, you can disable HomeWhiz and prevent remote control of your appliances. This might come in handy when your kid borrows your tablet to play their favourite game!

Is it a paid service?

The application is free to download and use.

What do I need to use HomeWhiz?

  1. At least one HomeWhiz-enabled product.
  2. A mobile device (iOS 9.0+ or Android 7.0+)
  3. The HomeWhiz application
  4. A wireless internet connection

How can I download the HomeWhiz App?

The HomeWhiz application is available on the App Store and Google Play.

Why should I buy a HomeWhiz-enabled washing machine?

With a HomeWhiz-enabled washing machine you are able to monitor and control your washer via the HomeWhiz application. You can use the wizard function to easily find the best programme for your needs. You can also save your favourite programmes for future use. To make your life a little bit easier, you can activate the remote anticrease function if you're not able to remove the clothes from the machine at the end of the programme and you don't want them to sit there getting creased. HomeWhiz can help you save energy with smart energy management features. And lastly, after your wash cycle is finished, HomeWhiz can suggest the relevant programme to use on your HomeWhiz-enabled tumble dryer.

Can I control the appliances from two different smart devices?

It's possible for a user to operate HomeWhiz on different smart devices. After your initial setup, download the HomeWhiz mobile app to your other smart devices and login with your HomeWhiz account. You'll see the appliances you've added to your account on all your devices.

Why should I buy a HomeWhiz-enabled oven?

For starters, you'll find more than 80 recipes on the HomeWhiz application that you can send to the oven with one click for easy cooking. You can also monitor and control your oven from the application and start preheating before you arrive home!

Can multiple users operate the appliances via HomeWhiz?

Yes. It's possible for multiple users to operate HomeWhiz on the same appliance. The first user to setup the appliance is registered as the owner, while others are registered as users.

Why should I buy a HomeWhiz-enabled dishwasher?

With a HomeWhiz-enabled dishwasher you are able to monitor and control your dishwasher via the HomeWhiz application. You can use the wizard function to easily find the best programme for your needs. You can also save your favourite programmes for future use. HomeWhiz can help you save energy with smart energy management features.

What does owner/user mean?

The first person to connect a HomeWhiz device to the network is registered as the owner of that product. Other users will need the Owner's permission to use the product as a User.

How can I transfer my ownership? Can someone request ownership?

When the owner allows another account to use the appliance jointly, the new user can request ownership from the "User Linking Settings" under the "Settings" tab for each appliance. If the owner accepts the request, ownership is transferred to the new user. From "User Linking Settings" the owner can also transfer ownership without an ownership request from another user.

Why should I buy a HomeWhiz-enabled refrigerator?

With a HomeWhiz-enabled fridge you are able to monitor and control your fridge via the HomeWhiz application. You can change the temperature settings or even activate the holiday mode if you've forgotten to do so before you left home!

Can I use HomeWhiz on my Smart TV?

Is HomeWhiz accessible for all users? Can the visually impaired use it?

HomeWhiz is designed with accessibility in mind. It's compatible with VoiceOver on iOS and Talkback on Android devices.

I can't control my appliance via HomeWhiz, why is it telling me to activate HomeWhiz?

As a security measure, the users who are physically in front of the home appliances are given priority over remote users. To use the HomeWhiz application, you need to activate HomeWhiz on your appliance. If HomeWhiz is deactivated, the appliance can only be controlled via its own panel while you can only monitor them via the mobile app.

How can I disable HomeWhiz on my appliance?

To deactivate HomeWhiz on your washing machine, tumble dryer or dishwasher you need to tap on the button with the HomeWhiz icon. On your refrigerator you should tap on the wireless icon. On your oven, please find the HomeWhiz function in the settings menu and use the knob to turn it off. Please see the video section for detailed information about deactivating HomeWhiz.

How can I cook recipes with my oven using HomeWhiz?

The HomeWhiz application comes with more than 80 delicious recipes. After preparing the ingredients by following the directions, you can click on "Send to oven" button to easily run the oven with the perfect settings for that recipe.

Can I add my own recipes to HomeWhiz?

While we'd be honoured to have a taste of your culinary genius, unfortunately this is not possible for the moment.

Can I change the time or temperature of the recipes?

The recipes come with predetermined time and temperature settings, which have been rigorously tested by professional chefs. It's not possible to change these settings on the application. However, if you want to experiment you can manually modify these settings on the oven once you start cooking. Please note that the results of your experimental cooking might differ from the expected results of the original recipe.

How can I preheat the oven?

By using the manual control functions of the HomeWhiz application, you can set your oven to the desired temperature.

How can I use the energy saving mode?

To save energy, input the hours during which energy use is cheaper in your district on the energy settings page relating to your appliance on the HomeWhiz application. After doing this, you can select the "Smart energy" feature while running the appliance on the HomeWhiz application. Please see the videos page for detailed information.

Can I add any programme to my favourites list?

Yes, once you start running a programme, you can add it to your favourites with the click of a button. Don't forget to name it!

What do I do with HomeWhiz when I move to another house?

If you'll be using the same wireless network in your new home, you don't have to do anything. Your appliances will work just the same as before. If you set up a new wireless network in your new home, you'll need to set up your appliances once again to introduce them to your new network.

How can I transfer the ownership of a HomeWhiz device?

From the Add/Remove Appliances page, you can select a user to transfer the ownership of an appliance. Alternatively, a user can request to be the owner of an appliance and ownership can be transferred if the current owner approves the request.

Will I have to set up my devices again in case of a power outage?

No, once the power is back on, your devices will reconnect automatically to your network.

I have lost my phone/tablet. How can I stop someone else from controlling my devices?

First of all, you should deactivate HomeWhiz on your appliances to prevent access via the HomeWhiz application. After that you should contact your service provider or phone manufacturer to locate your device and contact HomeWhiz support to disconnect your mobile device.

Do I need an account to use HomeWhiz?

Yes, you'll need to create a HomeWhiz account before you use HomeWhiz smart home technology.

What about my data privacy & security?

We do take privacy & security extremely seriously. Our application and appliances are tested and certified by VDE and you can see more detail about this on the security page. Also, you can click here to see the privacy policy and the terms and conditions.

What should I do if my appliance connectivity is always weak?

Due to the distance between your appliance and your wireless router or due to the obstacles in between (such as walls) the wireless connection might be too weak for your appliance to connect. Please check to see if the signal strength of your WiFi router is weak in the place you have installed your appliance. If the signal strength is low, you could try moving the appliance (if possible) or install a WiFi extender. If the connectivity is poor in spite of high signal strength, please contact the customer service desk for your appliance.

What should I do if the connection is lost between the app and the appliance? If I can't connect again?

If you can't control your smart appliances, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that the internet connection of your smart device (IPAD/Iphone etc) exists and that the HomeWhiz function is enabled on your appliance.
  2. If you can't enable the HomeWhiz function check whether your appliance is connected to the network by going to the settings menu. If the WLAN is OFF, switch it to "WLAN:ON". For refrigerator products, make sure that the WiFi LED light is on.
  3. If the problem persists close and restart the HomeWhiz application.
  4. If the problem still continues, delete HomeWhiz linking and repeat initial setup.
  5. If all the operations don't solve the problem please contact the authorised service .

What happens if I change the name or the password of my wireless network?

You need to repeat initial setup settings.
